Ryder's 2nd Bday and Hudson Starting Preschool

My boys sporting their boots and belts.

Handsome fellas!

Ryder's 2nd Birthday Party
Lots of fun with family and friends and a big water slide that we could not convince Ryder to try.  Oh well, it was fun for everyone else and Ryder like watching all the action.

He was too embarrassed to ride his new 4 wheeler at the party, but now we can't keep him off of it.  He tried to ride it up a huge pile of dirt the other day.  Good thing it doesn't have much power.

Fair & Rodeo 2012

Hudson and Ryder loved the clown "Wild Child" who jumped his motorcycle over a truck and trailer!

Family Picture Time
Mom took a few pictures of us by the trumpet vine at their house.
She did a good job with two wiggly guys!

Hudson's 1st Day of Preschool

Unlike his Mommy, he marched right into his classroom without hesitation ;) He loved his first day! I'm certain that it was a much bigger milestone for Mommy than Hudson, but I'm so glad he loves learning and meeting new friends.  Doesn't hurt that his cousin Landon was in his class too.  His teacher said that sat together the whole morning ;)

Happy 3rd Birthday to Hudson

Hudson's 3rd Birthday was a blast! We had a big celebration at Mia and DanDan's house with lots of family and friends, Choo Choo train rides, adorable Mater cupcakes, and tons of fun. Hudson had a great time! He has changed so much in the last couple of years. On his first birthday, he wouldn't eat a cupcake and cried when we sang "Happy Birthday" to him. Well, he is definitely over his aversion to sugar and seemed to actually enjoy all the attention and singing this year. He probably rode on the train over 20 times and loved driving and riding with the bigger boys in the gator.

We are so proud of our 3 year old. He is a good big brother (most of the time) always making sure that Ryder has drink if he gets a drink or Ryder gets a treat if he gets a treat ;) He's truly a country boy at heart. He enjoys anything outside ... picking weeds, helping DanDan drive the tractor, petting the horses, feeding the goats, etc. And of course we think he's brilliant. I was flipping through the recorded shows the other day and I passed an episode of "The Adventures of Chuck" and he said "Mom, can I watch Chuck?". That might not sound amazing, but there were no pictures of the show ... it was just the Titles ... and it was the first time I had recorded Chuck ... and I hadn't told him that I was recording a few new shows for him ... so he must have recognized the words from seeing them on Mia's DVR. Amazing, to his Mommy anyway.

Sweet Birthday Boy!!!

Carli and Janae in the Choo Choo

Landon is an excellent driver and feels the need for speed ;)

Grandma and Grandpa came all the way from Farmington to celebrate Hudson's birthday!

Cutie Baby Beau

Clay gave Hudson and Ryder these hats and Ryder refused to take it off all weekend, except for when he was sleeping

130+ piece train set. Hudson loves it!

Enjoying the cupcakes

Fun on the Choo Choo!

Cigi and Clay made these adorable "Mator" cupcakes. They were amazing ... and they are hired for the next 10 -15 birthdays ;)

Hudson driving the tractor with DanDan

Hudson and Ryder are so cute driving the gator. Hudson was too scared to drive it last year, but this year he loves it. And Ryder is content to be a passenger for now. Ryder has only fallen out on one occasion and Clay is convinced he nodded off while sucking his thumb and tumbled out on a turn.

Best Buddies!

We went to the circus on Odessa with A.C., Landon, Sheryl and Bill. Hudson and Ryder would not ride the elephant, but A.C., Landon, and Bill were brave and rode on the very front!

And here's a video of Hudson practicing some of his memory verses. I was trying to get him to say Galations 5:22 about the fruits of the spirit, but he started saying Luke 10:27. We recite that one a lot when we are not being loving to our neighbor ... naming our brother ... notice him pointing to Ryder during that part of the verse ;)

Welcome 2012

2011 was one of the most challenging years of our lives in so many ways, but still we are so thankful for all that God has done for us and brought us through! And while so many things are still up in the air, we are thankful for God's real presence, provision and peace that sustains us always ... sadly we just realize it more during the difficult times.

Both boys are getting so big. Hudson is shooting up in height ... over 3 feet these days, and Ryder has caught up to Hudson in weight and shoe size. Hudson still loves books. He can read some of them to us now and he is learning to write his letters and numbers on a new electronic tablet. Ryder knows many of his letters and sounds thanks to practice with his big brother. We were in the pharmacy recently and Ryder pointed to the 'P' and said "PaPaPa". He mimics almost everything Hudson does ... good and bad :) Hudson has gotten into the habit of asking me "Who was on the phone?" when I get finish talking, so I hung up my cell phone the other day and Ryder asked "Whose on da phone?". I just laughed. I can't get away with anything these days.

And they both LOVE jumping on their Christmas present!

Here are a few of the fun things we've been up to lately ...

Making Christmas cookies with Amber

Denver Broncos vs Chicago Bears

The Polar Express
